A Sample ARC Detector Panel
Pala, Lukáš ; Valenta, Jiří (referee) ; Kadlec, Radim (advisor)
In the introduction an electric arcs creation in low voltage networks is discussed, followed by evaluation of verification measurements with AFDD. A serial arc generator is designed in accordance with easy manipulation and low maintenance requirements. Technological solution for safe fault simulation is described similarly as particular function sections of demonstration panel. Schematic diagrams of power and electronic circuits are attached.
Derating on the low voltage devices with a thermal trip unit
Dobrovolný, Jakub ; Vetiška, Vojtěch (referee) ; Dostál, Lukáš (advisor)
Electrical devices are secured as not to injure living creatures via electric current and damage or destroy machinery due to the effects of electric current. Circuit breaker is a device responsible for protection of an electrical circuit against damage. The main aim of thesis is the correct function of the thermal trip unit when it exposes to the thermal warming. The thermal trip unit is depended on heating of a bimetal before overcurrent flow. The goal of thesis is temperature and voltage drop profile from measured values. Verification of the measurement is done in SolidWorks Flow Simulation software. According to simulations are determined currents for correct function of the thermal trip unit in different temperatures of an environment. The most important result of the thesis is correct setting of the operating current in the circuit breaker.
Temporal Development Of Relative Ablation Of Plastics In Miniature Circuit Breaker During Switching Process
Simek, David
The paper is focused on an ablation of plastic materials in contact with an electric arc inside the electrical apparatus during the switching process. It is possible to obtain temporal development using method based on optical emission spectroscopy. The emission spectra were taken during the switching process. The hydrogen alpha spectral line of Balmer series was used as an indicator for evaluating of plastics ablation. Complications connected with the measurements are discussed. The main part of the paper deals with a temporal development of relative concentration of a hydrogen in plasma inside the miniature circuit breaker. Atomic spectral lines database of National Institute of Standards and Technology was used as a spectral data source for evaluation.
